The winners are Andrew Jamieson AUS and Irene Obera USA.

Presentations to Andrew and Irene were made by WMA President Stan Perkins at the Welcome Dinner in Daegu. Delegates from all countries competing in the Championships were invited to the dinner.
Andrew previously won this award for 2007 and he was also nominated by OMA for 2009 and 2012.”

The nominations from OMA for these very prestigious awards are Andrew Jamieson and Marie Kay both of Australia.
Both have continued to set world and other records. Andrew in the walks and Marie in sprints, jumps and heptathlon.
